Movie Review - Gran Torino - Some Story Spoilers
This is a really good movie, with a really good message at the end. Watching it took me back to the old Clint Eastwood western movies, or Dirty Harry type movies he is known for.
(SPOILERS BELOW - DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE) The movie starts off, he is a openly racist old white man who is a Korean War Vet, as the movie continues he meshes with other races, and ends up converting from some of his racist ways. The movie has a lot of spots in it, I am not sure if they meant to be funny, but I was cracking up due to his lack of self restraint when it comes to pretty much any one in the movie. I would suggest watching this, it has a good moral story the closer the movie gets to the end. I give this movie 8 out of 10. The racism was kind of disturbing at some spots and I am positive with deter people from certain ethnic backgrounds. In the end, he does have many revelations after certain things take place throughout the movie that does help, but the racist comments still continue, although it does not seem to bother the people in the movie, I could definitely understand.
